Form is allowed to evolve and grow using pinch method of construction. 

Sphere section is made using pinch method and then smoothed.  Other sections are shown utilizing the slab method of construction.

Description

Commission work made using the double wall pinch method of construction; small dabs of clay are added until the form is complete.  Piece was built upside down and then flipped over in order to fire.  Planter size 46 inches in diameter.  

Image shows process of developing foam model, to master form design, to the making of the final plaster master mold and then to press-molding of each half.  Final module is constructed of two press-molded halves and then fired.
